Much has been written about the pains and problems of being single.  It’s everywhere in the media. Many TV shows, if you think about it, have either primary or secondary themes of singles on the never ending pursuit of finding their purpose and meaning in life, i.e. their spouse. Singleness is portrayed as a necessary evil, a holding pattern, until life FINALLY begins at the marriage alter (or at least at the “happily committed in a stable relationship” stage). You find your partner, ride off into the sunset of contented, relational bliss, and. . . roll the credits. However,  there are great aspects of being single. There really are! One book about extramarital affairs is titled  The Myth of the Greener Grass. For many people, even for many Christians, the grass always seems greener somewhere away from one's own spouse. The world used to take adultery seriously, but how things have changed. The tabloids and TV chat shows send the message that adultery is -- well, normal.  Luke 5:1-11 I woke up this morning with the urge to read through the book of Luke 5. I was amazed and blessed beyond measure when i got a deeper revelation to the divine message embedded in that whole chapter.  Lets start with the experience of Peter and the rest of his team who all later became the disciples and followers of Jesus Christ. It was awesome to see how the lord Jesus Christ change the entire mental, financial, spiritual and physical condition and status of those young men who are at the very verge of giving up their hope for the day. It was a day that was full of struggle and stress, a day they could not lay their hands on what they thought was a common provision waiting for them to harvest but turned out to be a scarce commodity, it turned out to become an impossible situation for that day.   The story of the four lepers remains a major point of reference in the act of taking risk and reaching out to the next level in life. They chose to move on with life inspite of what life has thrown at them, leprousy.  These were men that defied the odds and accept to die in the hands of their enemies to bring about the miraculous and happen to life rather than waiting for life to happen to them. They said, 'if we remain here we shall die', so they chose to take the risk of going into the enemies territory, they set the pace and God honour their act of faith.  Life in the Spirit I just know that there is something that is different in me from any other person, and thats my experience with the holy Spirit, it makes all the difference in me and gives me such awesome confidence in the things of the kingdom and the new life in the Spirit. Sometimes life can be so funny, not knowing where to turn in the face of adverse circumstance and fiery trials but the truth remains that we must continue to fix our eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ who is the only wise one that has call us to life and virtue. We must be encourage to take those leap of faith and face the next day with courage and strength knowing fully well that he is right there with us in the midst of our challenges and temptations of life.
