ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

BIBLE REFERENCE: PSALMS 27: 4.

When we are able to harness our focus and concentrate on what is needful and prioritise our life, we will discover a new strength to push through oppositions and difficult times in our lives. This is also applicable to how we walk with God in our spiritual relationship with him, we must discover the most important thing in life and pursue it with our whole strength, mind and heart.
The psalmist, David discovered the presence of God as the ultimate place to be, a place to tap strength and wisdom, he saw it as a place of refuge and a stronghold from the storms of life, no wonder he fought and conquered all his foes without loosing in any battle. When you check all through the scripture you will discover that the people who truly walk with God and did wonders were those that recognise the importance of God's presence.
Moses was a lover of God's presence, he said if your presence will not go with them he will not even move an inch. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were men that discovered and follow through on God's presence, Job the righteous man was also another example, Elijah, Elisha, our Lord Jesus Christ sought God's presence everyday of his life. Do you remember Mary and Martha, they were sisters and love to follow Jesus but while Martha was always in kitchen, Mary was always found at the feet of Jesus learning something new and her attitude was commended by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 10:41-42 New International Version (NIV)
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Only one thing is needful and that is the presence of the Lord, may you find peace and joy in his presence as you seek Him everyday of your life this year in Jesus name.

PRAYER OF THE DAY
Dear Lord Jesus take me to your presence and draw me nearer into your secret place.
